Job Description
Tradesmart Supplies Limited is seeking a qualified and proactive IT Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s IT infrastructure, providing technical support, maintaining system security, and supporting digital and software-related operations to ensure smooth business continuity.
Responsibilities:
- Manage website updates and maintenance, ensuring content is current and the website functions effectively.
- Handle social media platforms and support digital marketing initiatives.
- Carry out software development tasks and create graphic designs to support marketing and communication activities.
- Ensure system and data security by implementing and monitoring security measures to protect company information assets.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Troubleshoot system and network issues, diagnosing and resolving hardware or software faults promptly.
- Provide first-line IT support to staff and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Set up and manage user accounts, email accounts, and password-related issues.
- Provide user support and training to ensure effective use of company systems and technologies.
- Conduct regular data backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical information.
- Repair and replace hardware parts as required to maintain IT equipment functionality.
- Provide guidance and best-practice recommendations on the use of existing technologies and systems.
- Monitor server activity, network performance, security systems, backups, and disk usage while carrying out preventative maintenance activities.
Requirements and Skills:
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in website management, networking, and systems administration.
- Knowledge of system security, backup procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools and software development is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant IT tools.
Location & Working Hours:
- Location: Kampala – Uganda
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 12 PM
