Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview
Tradesmart Supplies Limited (TSL) is seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead and strengthen its financial governance, control environment, and strategic financial management.
Operating in a multi-bank, multi-country environment (Zambia & DRC), TSL requires a CFO who can ensure financial discipline, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and reliable reporting to support sustainable growth.
The CFO will serve as the senior financial authority within the organization and a key member of executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Governance & Internal Control
    • Establish and enforce robust financial control procedures.
    • Ensure proper segregation of duties across finance operations.
    • Oversee structured preparation, review, and approval of financial reports.
    • Strengthen internal controls over cash, banking, and mobile money transactions.
  2. Cash Flow & Banking Oversight
    • Supervise reconciliation of all bank and mobile money accounts.
    • Monitor liquidity and cash flow position.
    • Approve payments initiated by the finance team.
    • Ensure dual-control mechanisms over financial transactions.
  3. Financial Reporting & Performance Monitoring
    • Review and validate daily and monthly financial reports.
    • Oversee preparation of income statements and management reports.
    • Provide financial analysis to support executive decision-making.
    • Monitor profitability, revenue integrity, and commission accuracy.
  4. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
    • Oversee statutory obligations including PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, ZRA submissions, and income tax provisions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory compliance.
    • Maintain audit readiness at all times.
  5. Credit & Risk Management
    • Monitor credit exposure and aging reports.
    • Supervise cross-border financial activities (Zambia & DRC).
    • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  6. Leadership & Strategic Contribution
    • Lead and supervise the finance team.
    • Strengthen financial discipline and accountability culture.
    • Advise management on financial planning, growth, and investment decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Fully paid-up and practicing member of ZICA.
• ACCA / CA qualification preferred.
• Minimum 8–10 years progressive experience in finance.
• At least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Zambian tax and regulatory framework.
